Legal studies at Albert-Ludwigs-University in Freiburg, Germany, (Law School) and legal clerkship at the Hanseatic Higher Regional Courts in Hamburg and Bremen (1981-1983). 2001 graduation as Master of International Business Law at the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland (M.B.L.-HSG), 2019 training as a mediator at the Center for Mediation in Cologne.
Admitted to the bar in Bremen in 1983 and since 1991 in Munich. From 1984 to 1988 working as in-house counsel in the legal department of Bremer Landesbank in Bremen. In 1988 relocation to Munich to the international construction company Dyckerhoff & Widmann AG as in-house counsel, with a focus on construction and corporate law. After the merger with Walter-Bau AG, Augsburg, from 2001 working as head of the executive office and corporate communications of the merged company.
From 2005 to 2019 as Senior Legal Claims Expert at Swiss Re Europe S.A., German branch in Munich, especially responsible for complex major claims in the area of personal injury and property and construction damages, international claims settlement and alternative dispute resolution.
Lectures on the compensation of traffic and terror victims as well as on property and construction damages at national and international conferences, also on claims management strategies and alternative dispute resolution, acting as arbitrator in various construction disputes.
